No Strings Attached

Grace. It’s a life changing GIFT that some people will never receive because they don’t know it’s there.

So here’s the thing, and the thing is this.. Jesus brought something to Earth that wasn’t here before B.C. I’m not going to spend too much time telling you about grace. It’s the most simple, yet complicated thing in history. It’s simple because it is there for each and every one of us. It’s always within the grasp of each human being! It never goes further from you than an arms reach. Not ever. It’s also simple because you don’t have to do anything for it! Many, many, many times in The Word, Father God eludes to this idea of coming to Him just as you are! He wants to meet you where you are. But, the important thing about meeting someone, that I tend to forget, is that BOTH parties must show up.

Remember, that God never leaves. He never will. It’s simple.

Now, what makes grace complicated?

The fact that Jesus had to take on human form and be born of a virgin girl? Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty complicated. Jesus, then, had to be tempted each day of His human life and STILL remain pure, righteous, holy, white as snow, and pleasing in the sight of God? That’s no easy task! After thirty or so years, Jesus then had to face one of the biggest betrayals in human history. Probably had some complications involved in that, too. Jesus had to endure a royal beating in front of the entire town. He had to be abused in every sense of the word. He was despised. Finally, He died, arms stretched out along the width of a tree.

So yes, grace is complicated! We wouldn’t have grace if Jesus hadn’t had come to Earth. Knowing all of that now, some of you still don’t understand grace. Some of you still don’t know how to receive God’s perfect gift.

I heard a song this morning that sang, “Jesus paid a ransom fee that really was for me.” Those words truly wrecked me, today. All of that complicated stuff above, all of that crazy torture… You have to realize and remember that Jesus did that WILLINGLY! He did it just for you. This is the gospel, people! He did it so that we could be saved. I know you still may not understand completely. It’s because you’ve NEVER known a love like that before! That love is still very much alive.

Whenever a friend comes to me for prayer. My first request to Father God is this: “Father God, could You please meet them where they are? Draw near to them.” He always, always does do so. Jesus didn’t die in Heaven. He didn’t get tempted up there. He didn’t get betrayed and murdered up there. He came to us down here! Haha! What a beautiful act of grace! He came here. My prayer for each every person reading this is that God would meet you right where you are! Whatever circumstance, situation, sin, confusion… He meets you there.

For those of you who don’t know Jesus, yet (emphasis on the word ‘yet’), grace is not a scam. Christ is not in the business of trickery. He doesn’t play games or cause confusion. In fact, I’d go as far to say that living a life without Jesus, is like living in a land of confusion and disconnect. Jesus is the King of connection and clarity. The truth is this: No, you don’t have to believe that Jesus is real and you don’t have to choose to believe that what He has done is 100% truth. You don’t. But, I will say this, you need Jesus. I have known Jesus for what seems like my entire life,  and I need Him just as much as you do. I haven’t known Him for my whole life, but He has known me since before my first breath, so, we just clicked, ya know?

Whoever you are reading this today, I want you to know that YOU ARE worthy of the grace and love that only comes from Jesus! You are good enough for Him. Why? Because HE said so. You are deserving because He already loves you enough to give it to you before you even knew Him. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? I’ll tell you. HE LOVED YOU FIRST! He loves you right now!

There are no strings attached, either. He loves me and I love Him. Simple, right?

Caught in a Moment: The Story of My Love Affair

After years and years of being raised to know the name of a man that was supposed to be the very reason for my existence. Hearing the same name a thousand times over, all of my life. My mother would remind me of the beauty of His name and His countenance. My father would teach me about His loving kindness. My grandparents never let me forget His faithfulness. My Pastor taught me all about His power and might. Time and time again, the special people in my life pointed me to this man. This name. This love. They expressed to me that He brings peace. A peace that surpasses all knowledge and understanding. I was told that His name alone, is the name that is above every other name. That at this name, one day, every knee will bow and tongue will confess that He is Lord over all.

Let me be straight with you.

All of these lessons and words were just that. They were words. What I didn’t know then, was this: Those very words would one day turn my entire life around, forever. Those words would eventually be the sole reason for each breath that I take. Those words were never just words. From the very beginning, they were truths spoken from the heart of God. Each word spoken to me, for the first 18 years of my life, were used “for such a time as this.” All played a very important role in a love affair that never could have seen coming. One day I looked and acted a certain way and then, all at once, caught up in a single moment with this man that I had heard about all my life, completely altered the course of my life.

I knew the name. I was familiar with His work. I understood that He was real. But, I had never experienced His peace, power, love or compassion. All the amazing qualities of this, apparently perfect man, I had missed out on. When I went off to college, I could feel a shift in my heart. I didn’t know what it was at the time but now, looking back, I am fully aware of the fact that this shift that I felt deep down in my heart was God making room for this man in my life. I thought I had experienced the fullness of God. I had received all the “benefits.” I mean, I was still living and going to my dream college, Lee University. Oh boy, was I wrong.

One day, I’ll never forget it. I found myself caught up in a moment. One of the greatest moments of my life. It changed me in a way that no matter what happens, ever, I will never be the same again. It wouldn’t even be possible for me to go back to the way I was before. All the truths that I was taught all my life, came back to me. They each became real to me, in the form of this man. He was both fully man and fully God.

I realized, in that very moment, that He truly is the peace that can’t be put into words or understood. One thing I did understand was the fact that He alone, is the reason that I breath. He is my heartbeat. I fell deeply and recklessly in love that day. I fell in love with this man. This man that waited 19 years for me to love Him back. I fell in love with the King of Kings. I fell in love with a man that changed the course of history 2,000 years ago. With a man that willingly sacrificed His life for me.

I was able to see the beauty of this man, that my Mom showed me. I saw the kindness and love that Dad had taught. I saw the might and power and faithfulness. In that moment, I felt a love that I had never known before.

The Bible says this:

It says that He sits at the right hand of God. That He intercedes for us. That He is perfect in every way. He is mighty and powerful. He paid the price that only He could pay, all for us. He laid His life down for us. He is joy. He is peace. He is hope. He is love. He died. He conquered the grave! He took the keys of Hell right from Satan himself. He rose from the dead!

My story is this: Every day of my life points to this one moment, this one love. Now that I have found Him, my purpose is to point every person to this man, this life altering love.

This man is Jesus Christ. The love of my life is Jesus.

Philippians 2:6-11

“who [Jesus], though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

So, this is my love story. I fell in love with Jesus. I fall in love with Him over and over again, all the time. Jesus chose me long before I chose Him. He chose you, too. He loves you, too. Your moment is coming. It’s already here. It’s time for your love affair.

A Walk With Him

A little over a week ago, I was able to mark something off of my bucket list. I took on and finished my first full marathon! 26.2 miles under my belt, or if you ran it here on Guam, 42 kilometers! I never dreamed that I would be able to accomplish such an extraordinary dream all on my own. I didn’t have a running buddy throughout training and I certainly didn’t have one during the actual race, where I was forced to stretch my limits and push harder than I ever have before. To be honest, before actually running the race, during my training time, the actual idea of running the race was just that. An idea. A fairytale. A dream. Looking back now and thinking about the hard work and long hours, everything that I was doing was all to teach me about my walk with God. I want to share with you all what I have learned over the past few weeks, and even months.

First things first, earlier I wrote that I never imagined tackling this marathon on my own, and truthfully, I felt that way throughout a huge portion of my training, but under no circumstances was I ever alone. Every step, every mile and every moment my Father God was right there with me. So, let me begin by making sure we are all on the same page. This walk with God is exactly that! A WALK WITH GOD! If you are a Christian, a believer in Christ, then every day of your life is walking with God. That’s what your life is supposed to be. A walk with Him.

For many months, I trained to increase my mileage. Each week, I would push harder and run farther. It was fun most weeks, but there were always times when I wished that I had someone to run with. How relatable is that to our walk? I mean, let’s be real. How often are we struggling with something in our life and all we want is to have someone to cry to, to comfort us and to be able to lift us up? I can look back on my life and see seasons where God just had me on my own. There wasn’t anyone there for me. I couldn’t reach my parents, siblings or other members of the body of Christ. I didn’t have anyone to lift me up. But let me tell you something, in those seasons of loneliness, the very moment that I turned my eyes from my being alone and placed them on my God and King, I got my praise back! The Bible says that in our weakness, He is strong! I forget that truth too often. Yes, The Word is very clear that we are the body of Christ and must be there to lift each other off the ground and pull each other out of the pit. “Iron sharpens iron,” right?  Yes, absolutely! But sometimes, we must learn to place our confidence in God and God alone.

The Bible says, “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”  -Jeremiah 17:7&8

For those of you that are in this season right now, I encourage you to keep on fighting. Just hang on to the Word of God. Be thankful for this season, for the grass is greener on the other side, in Jesus’ name.

I mentioned increasing mileage. I can’t skip over that because it’s probably the most important part of this entire article. The training that I did each day to prepare for my race is the main reason why I was able to finish. We have an obligation to our training. That is, reading the Word, praying and conversing with God, spending real time with Him and WALKING with Him each day. That is how you “increase mileage.” By training, with Father God, you will go further than you ever dreamed possible.

Now, race day.

It’s all about endurance.

Endurance is defined as the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.

I can’t possibly know what you are going through or what you go through everyday. I’m hear to tell you that the torment or trials you face, WILL BE WORTH IT. Romans 8:18 says, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

James 1:2-4, 12

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing…12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

My hope and prayer, for each of us, is that we would never become so beat down that we can no longer continue to press on and push forward. Remember that everything that you do is for God’s glory and when you give glory to Him, He lifts you up and rewards you.

Colossians 3:23-24

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

Never forget what you are fighting for. I urge you to take a step back today and ask God to remind you of who you are in Him and what your role is. At the end of my days, I want to be able to rest in this truth: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

That’s what I want for all of us. Just as I crossed the finish line, a woman placed a medal around my neck. I felt so much accomplishment in that moment and it made me think, “what will it be like to see my Father and hear Him say ‘well done, my good and faithful servant?'”

My goal is to spend all of my days with Jesus and to bring as many folks as I possibly can to glory with me. So, I will walk with Him on these streets down here, until I can walk with Him on His golden streets, up there.

The Lord bless you and keep you!

Sit Down

We’ve all been on group adventures before. I am hoping that you have, so that it won’t be difficult to articulate what the Holy Spirit has laid on my heart today, both for me and for you.

~Let’s dive right in~

So, you are out and about. Maybe at a youth conference, event or some type of get together. There are always several instances when you all realize, “okay, group picture!” Everyone huddles together and essentially, the entire group knows “the drill.” You know what I’m talking about. Tall people to the back and the shorter folks gather towards the front so that each face can be seen. I hope you are tracking with me, thus far!

Anyway, everyone has assumed position but there are a few places in the line-up where the person in the front row might be roughly the same height as the individual behind them.

…OK, fine. It’s actually not that huge of an issue because like I mentioned before, we all know the drill. What happens, then? Yes, the person or persons in the front row will get lower and take a seat (criss-cross applesauce, of course), so that the face of the person or persons in the back row can be seen in the picture.

I know that most of you have been saying to yourself, “alright Bethany, where are you going with this?” I won’t beat around the bush. The Holy Spirit has used this vision to show me something so powerful today and I believe He wants me to share it with The Body of Christ, as well.

The Spirit of God says to us today that sometimes, we need to sit down so that when people take a look at our [big] picture, they will be able to see the face of God the Father. I mean, there are times when even I don’t see what God is up to behind the scenes! I can’t imagine how blinded people that haven’t met Him are to His hand and work that take place EVERYDAY!

John 3:30 reads, “He MUST increase, but I MUST decrease.”

John the Baptist stated those words. How beautiful and humbling. We are very aware of the fact that each and every being needs Jesus. It’s literally a life or death situation. It’s so challenging for me at times to make certain that in everything that I say or do, God reaps all of the glory. In order for Him to get the glory for things that take place in my life, I have to step out of the way. I needed to be reminded today that it is time for me, maybe for you, to take a seat and let God’s glorious face shine in the picture. Maybe you are like me. Maybe you feel like you are trying so hard to show people the goodness of God. Maybe you are spreading yourself thin in attempts to give Jesus’ love to everyone you come into contact with. If you are, AWESOME! I encourage you to continue that. But maybe, you feel like you are getting no where with people. That is okay because, hear me, God knows things that you don’t know! He sees things that you don’t see. More importantly, HE can do things that you can’t do! It is crucial that I decrease so that He may increase.

I pray that you see just how powerful this word is. In the book of 1 Corinthians, Paul says that he(Paul), “planted seeds, Apollos watered, BUT GOD gave the growth,” (3:6-7). I encourage you each to continue on living for the sake of the gospel! Keep planting seeds in people! Keep watering! Keep on keeping on! Only one thing more: you must remember Who controls the harvest. The growth is in the hands of the Lord, our good, good Father.

Do you realize that for some, the gospel and saving grace of Jesus are actually a mystery yet to be revealed to them? Some haven’t heard! Some don’t know! They have no view of the bigger picture. Sure, I haven’t the slightest idea of why God has put me in some places but I go there and do this or that because I know what the bigger picture looks like! Glory to God.

Ephesians 1

…9 making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Matthew 13:11

Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted.”

Believer, you are blessed because you know what the bigger picture looks like. It looks a whole lot like Jesus and it looks like a paradise that we couldn’t even possibly put into words. The presence of God that we talk about and even meditate in/on and seek to graze in as much as we can, yes… THAT! That is the bigger picture! You know what the mystery is. When you said “yes” to Jesus, you solved it. Now, live in such a way that God can be glorified in your life. Let Jesus’ light radiate off of you. Allow His love to rush, like a mighty river, in and through you. The gospel has everything to do with our Lord…

So, sit down.

What Do You Bring to the Fight?

Today, I had the privilege of going to the Joint Women’s Leadership Symposium, here on Guam. Let me just say, I went into the conference with a hopeful head on my shoulders, ready to learn and take note of all the ways the speakers, that were chosen to lead us, had overcome obstacles, tackled tough situations and managed the service members and civilians under their command. I left feeling completely empowered, motivated and impressed upon. I was honoured to be taught by some of the most outstanding and successful military officers and leaders in the United States Armed Forces and I did not leave disappointed, by any means. I was completely fulfilled. I was reminded of the scripture that reads, “my cup overflows” as I meditated on the event. I could’t help but pass some of the things that I learned today on to someone!

As I began writing this today, I realized that there are so many different routes I could take that would leave you satisfied, as a reader. But, to be honest, I don’t want, in anyway, to satisfy you. My desire, for you, is to be filled with and satisfied by the Holy Spirit and allow Him to transform your heart, mind, and way. It will always be my prayer that God would only use me as a vessel for His Kingdom and His glory. So with that being said, I believe that the following passage will bless your life, in Jesus Name. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you, as He uses me to write to you this day.

My question to you is this: What do you bring to the table? What do you bring to the fight?

It’s an interesting question. It’s close to impossible to answer for yourself. For my fellow believers, it’s so important that you know the answer! One of the speakers today said these words, “program yourself so that someone else doesn’t program you!” She used such passion in her speech while she said these words and the Spirit of the Lord quickened my spirit saying, “Let Me program you!” How powerful! The answer to such a difficult question lies with The Father. He knows you better than you know yourself! By the end of this blog, I hope we can learn just a few of the contributions and attributes, if not all, that we bring to the fight! But more importantly, I want us, together, to go ahead and step right into the fight head on, with courage, knowing that God is in control and will use us in mighty ways according to His calling and purpose for our lives.

Here’s where you must begin. It is absolutely critical that you have a foundation. Not one of us can start building if there is nothing to build on! Let me give you the answer to the test. The foundation is, and always will be, Jesus Christ! The Bible says, “for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Body of Christ, the foundation has been laid for you! The first step, to a successful life in Christ, is already taken care of for us. I don’t understand why I have ever thought that I needed to do anything other than to build up and grow. Why is it that we, so quickly, forget Jesus in the equation of life? He is the foundation set for us. In the book of Matthew, chapter 7, it is made very clear that if we hear Jesus’ teachings and DO what He says, we will be “like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, but it did not fall…” Why? “…because it had been founded on the rock.” Jesus is the rock! You cannot build on anything other than the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

These next few points were all things that were said today that The Holy Spirit really impressed on my heart. I’m going to let God open your eyes to see where you are on track,  and where you might be missing the mark. He certainly opened mine today! Five points that I won’t harp on, but definitely want to mention:

  1. Find your voice and use it
  2. Don’t box yourself in
  3. Don’t box God in (as if you were even capable of doing so)
  4. Figure out what motivates you or what your passions are and use for the Kingdom
  5. Pay attention to what others bring to the fight! (You aren’t in this fight alone. AMEN)

Once you figure those out, it’s time to grow. Honestly, I think, growth takes place as you are learning more about those things because truthfully, it’s a never ending process. Moving on. Several times, today, I heard the words, “sprout where you have been planted.” All I can say to that is “AMEN!” One of the most motivational and truly mindset altering pieces of wisdom given to me, today, came from the Commanding Officer of Naval Base Guam, Capt. Anderson. He was talking all about opportunity and he said that success and growth come when “opportunity meets preparedness.” Those words set me back for a moment. God was all over that one! I know that He was up there, in Heaven, looking down saying, “Bethany, are ready?” Ministry and the gospel have everything to do with God and nothing to do with you, except for one crucial part. You must be prepared to speak life into people! ALL people! Another speaker stated that “we serve anybody and everybody.” How true is that of the Body of Christ? You are a servant of Father God and He has specifically called you to live a life worthy of the gospel and worthy of ministering that gospel to the world! You’ve got to be reading the Word of God! You have to know what His Word says and apply it to your life. We have to arm ourselves in the Lord so that the Holy Spirit can use us to lift people up and turn their eyes to Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” The word, straight from the heart and lips of Father God, is what equips us to be more than capable to do the work He has called us into. Every difficult situation is covered in His word. Every moment of weakness, each opportunity to witness or speak life into someone, and even challenging moments when you feel led to call someone out on something; it is all in the Word.

Read over Ephesians 6:10-20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

My final point is this: Jesus MUST be the center of everything you do, and in all that you are. I’ve told many people this and still say the same thing now, “I’m not me without Jesus.” It is my prayer that those words reign true in your life, as well. We can’t do the mission without Him. There is no gospel, no mission without Jesus.

Never forget that YOU have value! More value than you could ever understand. Ephesians 3:20 reads, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” You are so important to the Kingdom of God. You might not ever grasp how special you are to our Father, but you can’t let that stop you from doing His work. He handmade you and molded you “for such a time as this.”

God has given you the gifts, the tools and the opportunities…

So, let me ask you again: What do you bring to the fight, army of the Lord?

Quite the Predicament

Have you ever been in this place in your life and all at once, you realise that you are a mess? It just hits you out of no where. Nothing drastic in your life changed to make you see it. You are just sitting there and then BOOM! Reality sets in.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Maybe you’ve never been through this before. I hope you don’t go through it. I hope that each and everyone of you reading this never sit in the predicament that I was sitting in. A predicament is defined as a difficult, unpleasant or embarrassing situation. That is exactly what I was living in once I realised what my life had come to. Never, in my days on Earth, did I dream that I would actually be in a place where I literally had no idea who I was to the point of not even noticing how badly I needed healing. I mean, come on! Talk about situational awareness. So yes, I was in a predicament. Difficult, unpleasant and embarrassing. All three of those words  form a perfect description of the situation I found myself in and I’m sure many of you have also found yourself in at a time in your life.

I will tell you this much, it is a wonderful place to be for one reason and one reason only. That reason is this: It is in moments like these where you should be totally assured that God desires to heal every wound you have from the inside out!

About 3 weeks ago, I was sitting at my desk and then, all at once, came the ultimate pain of realisation. My heart was physically aching and it was like I could actually feel my mind syncing in with the pain in my heart. I remember placing both my hands over my heart and as tears began to roll down my face, I looked up and said “God I need you to heal me now!” Over the next few hours, I meditated on the Word and Spirit of God. He showed me that He absolutely wanted to mend my brokenness! He has wanted to for months, but was only waiting for me to notice where I was otherwise, how would I see the work of the Lord? I hope that makes sense to you. If you don’t see where you are now, how will you ever see the life change or the hand of God? I challenge you to take a look at your life and search for God’s hand in it all because He does, in fact, have a hand in every aspect of your day.

So, after God made me aware of all my “stuff,” it was time for me to get to work so that He could also get to work! For those of you who don’t know, let me let you in on a little known secret, God is our healer! Jehovah Rapha: The God that HEALS!

Now, it’s time that I take you on a journey through my healing process. The first step isn’t really a step because once God shows you how broken you really are, it just sort of happens anyway. You must humble yourself before the Lord. When you began the healing process, you will struggle. It is not easy, even in the slightest. You have to let go of the reigns. You cannot control what God is about to do in your life so get out of His way. Hold onto this verse to give you strength throughout.

James 4:7-10 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourself before the Lord and He will exalt you.”

The next step is a lot more simple. Realise that God wants to heal you because He LOVES you! Keep this in your heart forever! Another thing that I did during this time was seek out a prayer partner. Make sure that this person knows what’s going on in your life and will lift you up in prayer and will rejoice alongside you while God takes you on your journey to healing and restoration. (Shoutout to my sister in Christ, Anna McFarland! I love you so much sis!)

After you figure out step two, step three kicks in and you have to start looking inward and scraping away some of the old eschar that you don’t even notice anymore. You have to forgive all the people who have hurt you in the past! Even if you thought you already had forgiven them, have you actually forgotten about the hurt they brought to take up space in your heart? I’m not going to harp on this but I urge you to do what I did. I reached out to all of those that have caused me pain or hurt, and I sent them some love and words of encouragement. If it was too difficult to talk to some of them, it was obvious to me that I hadn’t forgiven them! Remember that there is no room for bitterness in the Kingdom of God.

Step four: Realise who you are in Christ! I took a day or two and spent as much time as I could just meditating on Jesus and on myself. I took a look at what I brought to the table. How does God use me in my daily life? What do I add to the Kingdom of God? During this step, I had to forgive myself for many things also. That was difficult to say the least. The main thing during this portion of the healing process was to see yourself as God sees you. To view yourself just as you are: A child of God.

Once you get through all of this, you must release all of your pain, anxieties, sufferings and wounds to Jesus. You have to seek deliverance. Remember that Jesus already took these things and nailed them to the cross! When He went to the grave and rose again, Jesus left those things on the cross of death. He didn’t rise back up with them, He rose just as HE IS!

On March 8, 2016, I was driving home from an event and I tried giving my mom a call. After the phone rang all the way through to her voicemail, I ended the call and set my phone in the passenger seat. In that very instant, I remember tears started streaming down my face and it was like all of that “stuff” that God showed me I was carrying around were no longer there! I felt my heart beating in my chest again and my mind synced with that heartbeat like it did at the start of this process, only this time, I realised something new. I looked to the Heavens and said “Father God, You just healed me, didn’t You?” After that, I began laughing like a crazy person and I know that the cars around me thought I was insane, but I didn’t care. I was healed in that moment! I am healed! My God healed me! Jehovah Rapha!

Just because I want to show you the importance of prayer and having prayer warriors, I want to boast on the Lord a little bit more. Later on that day, my mom texted me and it said this:

“This is what the prayer group prayed over you tonight. When you called me I didn’t have my ringer off so they started praying for you. Keep her laughter. Fight battles on different levels. Nothing not finished or accomplished. Find favor with superiors. Protection. Give vision of who she is in Christ. Wisdom. Scissors to cut through red tape. Favor of God. Things will be accomplished. Superiors will see a mighty warrior. Blessings on her. Will shine to draw many. Blessed where she walks. Mighty psalmist. Divine appointments. Songs will bring deliverance. Authority she walks in. She knows who she belongs to. Give peace joy favor wisdom fresh revelation. Angels around her to keep her safe.”

So, while I was receiving my healing from God, my mother and prayer warriors for standing in the gap for me. This is how I know that no weapon formed against us can prosper! This is how I know, for certain, that even when the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy us, God will lift us up and protect us!

Brothers and sisters, God is so faithful. I understand that you are struggling and some of you are even fighting for your lives, but He wants to heal you because you are His. 2 Timothy says, “God knows who are His.” I urge you to trust in your healing God, Jehovah Rapha, TODAY! Get out of your predicament and let God…

I would love to pray with you and seek our Father for your healing. May The Lord bless and keep you!

To you, this might just seem like a few paragraphs strung together to form some idea of what’s going inside my mind in this very moment as I sit at my desk and type away. Truthfully, on the surface, that’s all this really is! But I will tell you this: I am absolutely not just sitting here and typing words I think you might like to hear. It’s much deeper than that, I can assure you. I hope to prove that to all of you who take a second to read my blog.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. I could obviously start with a brief description of myself, but let’s be real, who actually wants to read that?? I could also give you a brief overview on my intentions for this blog in the grand scheme of it all but again, in reality, who the heck cares and who knows?! People, don’t let me fool you. I have not the slightest idea of what I’m even doing on this webpage! All I am certain of is this, God planted this in my spirit and I couldn’t ignore the call or what eventually turned into a desire! So let’s do this. Here we go.

I want to talk to two people.

To those of you who are believers and followers of Christ, Do you realise that God has a plan for your life? I mean, truly, do you understand that when He says He has ordered your very steps, HE really means that! He orders every single step we take! How amazing is our God! Knowing that God has a specific plan for each and everyone of us is so encouraging to me. When I actually think about the grace of God to give each of us our own uniqueness, it floors me. I am overwhelmed with joy at the thought of it. Not only does He have a plan for us and order our steps, but He goes even further and gives us the abilities to do exactly what He has called us to do. God grants us with gifts and talents that make us even more unique! I challenge you to look inward and see yourself the way your Creator sees you. Not just as a human being but as a vessel. God desires you to follow your dreams and listen to your heart because He is the One who implanted those dreams within you. They are all apart of God’s great plan and purpose for your life.

To those of you who aren’t believers yet, I have some wonderful news for you, as well! God has a plan for your life, too! He is only waiting for you to step into in! I encourage you today to take ahold of Jesus and accept Him as your Lord, King and Saviour. I can promise you, from experience, this will be a day you will never forget and it will indeed change your life forever. You will step into God’s divine and unique purpose for your life. The gifts and talents that He gave you without you even knowing will become part of that plan and I should warn you because BRACE yourself! God will use those gifts in ways that you couldn’t have done before. The Bible says that God’s ways are higher than our ways. One of my favourite songs says, “if God is in it, there is no limit!” How true that is. There are no boundaries, limits or any ways to box God in, so know that when you make yourself available to Him, there’s no telling what He can and will do. I can assure you, it will be unlike anything you’ve seen, heard or felt before. God’s purpose for your life is specific to your life!

In Psalm 37:4&5 it reads, “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.”
The thing is this: God wants you to be successful! He sent Jesus for many reasons, the main one to save the entire human race! But the Bible also says that Jesus came to bring abundant life and peace. So, in everything you do, let it be done for the Lord God and rest assured, you will have that abundant life you were promised.

So yeah, maybe I don’t know what I’m blogging for but I do know that this is the step God has established and ordered for me right now. I’m all for following in the steps of my Maker!

Remember, that only you can do what God has called YOU to do. That’s why He made YOU! The Bible says that you are beautifully and wonderfully made. You were created exactly how God wanted you to be made and you were made perfect when Jesus nailed your sins and struggles to the cross.

It is my prayer that those of you who are reading this today will truly seek the Lord and ask Him to reveal to you His plan and purpose for you. If you are struggling with your calling or even not knowing exactly what that calling is, feel free to contact me. I would love to lift you up in prayer and help you in anyway that I can.

I love each and everyone of you! May God BLESS and KEEP you!
